The Magic of reading

For those of you who have been to my house, you have seen that instead of having a formal living room, I decided I wanted a reading room where my kids and I could go to read books. I had my brother Denny put up a shelf in there, which I put books on so the kids could actually see the front of the books and not just the spine of the book. Up until now, that's all we had, but now that my brother Kyle has a little more time, we had him do a mural in there and I LOVE it. Below are a few pictures of what he (with a little help from his wife Lena) did.

For those of you not familiar with the book "You are Special" by Max Lucado (which is one of my favorite childrens books), below is a picture of Punchinello, the main character sitting on top of the book "The Hobbit", another classic, and next to Dr. Seuss's ABC book.

Here is Humpty Dumpty, who is sitting up on my shelf, obviously before his great fall. :-)

Below is a picture of Little Sal, from the book "Blueberries for Sal". Also another classic children's book. This same author (Robert McClowsky) wrote a few others that I love "One Morning in Maine", "Lentil", and "Make way for Ducklings".

Here is the cat and the fiddle, standing on my piano.
Rapunzel, letting down her hair.
And don't forget the three blind mice
