Firsts

1. Who was your FIRST prom date?
Jake Johnson

2. FIRST date?
Jeff Zaleski (who had just turned 16 a couple months before me) and I did a double date with my brother Kyle and Jeff's sister Maria, who were also the same age. We just made a dinner, which I believe was spaghetti and ate in our basement by candle-light, and then we had strawberry cheesecake for dessert.

3. Do you still talk to your FIRST love?
by facebook, yes

4. What was your FIRST job?
I started a paper route when I was 7. I loved to visit with some of the people when I would collect and sometimes would spend a half hour just chatting with them. I'm glad I had to be comfortable around adults at a young age.

5. What was your FIRST car?
The first car I really drove was the bunny, which was a --------, but MY first car was a 1979 Mercury Bobcat (looks like a pinto) named the Ladybug. That is where my affinity for ladybugs started.

6. Who was the FIRST person to text you today?
I don't really text.

7. Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning?
Cooper, since he is the one that woke me up. My second thought was "I wonder if Matt has already left for work".

8. Who was your FIRST grade teacher?
Ms. Cooley, whom I absolutely loved and kept in touch with for a while after she moved to another school.

9. Who was your FIRST Kiss?
Mike Mineer, 6 days before I turned 18

10. Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane?
from Las Vegas to LA

11. Who was your FIRST best friend & do you still talk?
Becky Crisp, and we have become connected again through blogs and facebook, but I haven't seen/talked to her in YEARS.

12. Where was your FIRST sleepover?
Probably Becky's house - she used to pay me in silver dollars to stay up longer cause I would get so tired.

13. Who was the FIRST person you talked to today?
TJ

14. What was the FIRST thing you did this morning?
Got Cooper out of his crib and snuggled with him in the chair until TJ woke up.

15. What was the FIRST concert you ever went to?
Either Yanni, or Sawyer Brown, I don't remember which was first

16. FIRST piercing?
my ears when I was 12

17. FIRST foreign country you've been to?
I don't think Canada really counts, although that was my first, but other than that, England.

18. FIRST movie you remember seeing? In the theater?
E.T.

19. When was your FIRST detention?
I've never been in detention

20. What was the FIRST state you lived in?
UT

21. Who was your FIRST roommate?
I think the first roommate I met at Snow was Corrine Lloyd, and we were room-roommates, but I had also lived with Darla (my sis) that summer at Bryce Canyon, and I hadn't lived with her for 10 years, so she was kind of my first roommate.

22. What happened the FIRST time you were pulled over driving? Did you get a ticket?
I've never gotten a ticket (knock on wood) but I also got pulled over between Bryce and Panguitch (same as my sis Chalise) going 5 over. The cops in that area must be pretty bored to get you for so little. I've been pulled over a few times in that area, although I never got a ticket.

I tag whoever wants to do this, it's kinda fun.

Cooper turns 1!

Cooper turned one last week, and although his actual birthday wasn't all that exciting for him (getting two shots at the doctor and then getting ignored all day while we loaded the moving truck) we were able to celebrate his birthday with Matt's family a week prior to his birthday before leaving Chicago. As you can see from the pictures, he liked the birthday cake. At first he just was licking his fingers after dipping them in the icing, but once he got a taste of it, he went for it face first, and didn't really stop until he was done. It was really cute and he was being such a ham, laughing and giggling all through it. It was so much fun to watch him. I included a before and after picture of his cake - I did a Mini-Cooper since he is our little Mini Cooper.

It's hard to believe that he is already one - that year went WAY too fast. I felt like I missed so much of his life even though the longest I have been apart from him is a couple hours. They just grow up when your not watching. :-) Or maybe you are watching so much that you just don't realize how fast they are growing. He is doing well and growing so big. He weighs 26 lbs and I think they said he was 32 inches. I know he is 97th percentile for height and 90th for weight. He has 4 teeth and I think he has a couple more ready to come in (which might be why he didn't sleep much last night). He has taken a step or two on his own, but he's not really into walking yet since he can get there so much faster crawling. He loves balls and when he finds balls small enough to fit in his hands he crawls around with them all day. He is such a cute little guy and we are so glad he is part of our lives.
On another note, we finally made the move to Utah and are getting settled in my sister's basement now. Matt and his dad drove the moving van out Saturday/Sunday (through the night) and then the boys and I flew in Sunday evening so Matt was there to pick us up. The flight went okay but Cooper was fairly fussy from having no naps that day and TJ barfed all over about 20 minutes before landing, but overall it was better than driving for 24 hours, so we'll just focus on that. :-) We're just so glad that we get to be together as a family again and have daddy as part of our lives every day instead of every few weekends. We are so grateful to my sister and brother-in-law for opening up their home to us. We hope we can see all of you Utah friends soon.

Could they get any cuter?

I'm sure every parent feels this way about their children (I hope they do) but sometimes I just wonder if my kids could get any cuter. Here are a couple recent pics. TJ got a suit for Christmas and so I thought I would take a few of him in his new threads.....
I also thought I would include a couple pics of Cooper - he LOVES beets, as does TJ, so I decided to take some pics of him proving that.

Craft it forward

I've seen a lot of people doing this on their blog. It sounds fun, so I figured I would give it a go. The first three people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!2- What I create will be just for you.3- It’ll be done this year.4- You have no clue what it’s going to be.5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. The catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 3 people who do the same on your blog. The first 3 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!Who’s in?
