Kitty Hawk

This is a model of the first airplane the Wright brothers invented. Things have changed quite a bit since then, thank goodness. Glad I don't have to fly across the country laying on my stomach with the wind in my face.
TJ was totally OUT when we were at Kitty Hawk, and so many people laughed as they walked by us with him sleeping so soundly in the stroller, looking so uncomfortable.
Trying to take flight myself - didn't work. Maybe it was because I was holding Cooper and didn't have both "wings". The stone markers in this photo show how far the Wright brothers got on their first few times they actually got in the air.

It's pretty amazing to think that just about 60 years after the Wright brother's first flight, we landed on the moon. I wonder if they ever realized how their new knowledge would transform the world.
